The initiate focuses on strengthening existing and new businesses operating in the manufacturing - processing and/ or commercialisation/ marketing of agricultural products listed in Annex I of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, excluding fishery products, wines from fresh grapes and vinegar and substitutes.

PURPOSE
To support existing and new enterprises engaged in the processing and/or commercialiation of agricultural products listed in Annex I of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), excluding the products listed in the Annex II of the Subsidy Sheme.

The specific objectives of the Intervention are:

• The upgrading and/or establishment of modern units for the processing and/or commercialisation of agricultural products
• The development of new high added value products and the certification of production quality and safety
• The enhancement of market orientation and the competitiveness of enterprises through the use of new technologies, digitalization, and the promotion of innovative investments and processes
• The utilisation of agricultural raw materials, prioritising local production
• The preservation and promotion of traditional and organic products
• The more efficient use of energy as well as the use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES)
• The implementation of actions for environmental protection, including the reduction of energy consumption, the production of energy through RES, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
• The creation of new jobs, especially in rural areas
